Heres the transcript to what went downa few days ago when Kanye was on the hurricane telethon. Keep in mind he was real nervouse when he said it so it came out a bit rough. I'm sure everyones going to throw there 2 cents in on this one.

Mike Myers: [dutifully reads canned plea for charity on teleprompter]

Kanye: [abandons teleprompter] "I hate the way they portray us in the media. You see a black family and they say we are looting, you see a white family and they say they are looking for food. And, you know, its been five days because most of the people ARE black. And even for me to complain, I would be a hypocrite because I would turn away from the TV because it's too hard to watch. I've even been shopping before even giving a donation, so now I'm calling my business manager right to see what is the biggest amount I can give. And just to imagine, if I was down there and those are my people down there. If there is anybody out there that wants to do anything that we can help about the way America is set up the help the poor, the black people, the less well off as slow as possible. Red cross is doing as much as they can. We already realize a lot of the people that could help are at war right now, fighting another way. And now they've given them permission to go down and shoot us.

Mike Myers: [stands frozen in horror, decides to pretend nothing happened and stick with the teleprompter]

Mike Myers: [descends into complete panic]

Ok, while i dont agree with much of what Kanye said, i think it is ridiculous of the media to censor what he said for the West Coast feed. What happend to free speech, as long as it is not in reference to the President, straight bullshit!

Kanye might of looked like a retard on TV, but there is some messed up shit going on and I know for a fact that he isn't the only one feeling this way... Even though his point is right on, he needs to learn how to speek better, no matter how emotional he was... You think Jay-Z would go on NBC and studder over his words like that. What does Kanye West do?... Rap... and what are rappers suposed to be good with?... Words... So Kanye definitely needs to step up his speach fast, but good for him for calling Bush out.

Here is an artical from MTV.com about what some of the rappers are doing to help.

Kanyes dope. He definetely needs to chill on the nervouse speeches though. It's nice to see a rapper step out of line a bit in a way that is not obviously just to genertate record sales.

If someone would have dropped a beat or maybe even lace a track behind what Kan-man said, it would be off the hook. That's what it is. He just needs a beat. Yo Rich, get on that.

i don't think that anyone should bag on anyone when getting emotional about a topic like that.
you know what he did alot more people need to do. that shit took balls. basically he layed his career on the line for that stunt and the fact that he gets criticized for doing it just goes to show you how plastic the world is. if garth brooks got up there and did the same shit then he would be praised and cheered on.

i think what kanye did was a bold thing to do that took alot of balls. too bad more stars and famous people dont have the guts to actually say what they feel or believe because the are worried about how it will affect their bank statement.

Way to go Kanye. Way to speak without thinking and without understanding what is really going on. George Bush doesn't care about black people because George Bush could not legally do anything.

There is a real problem when we let idiotic celebrities spew their ideas of politics. Many of these people have no education and no understanding of the real world and yet we let them speak whatever they want like it is gospel truth.

I like his music but he needs to shut up about the politics until he gets a clue.
